OUR LOCATION
Our campus tells many stories. Nestled on the banks of the Allaine river, and at the foot of the magnificent Château de Porrentruy, it has been inspiring young minds and shaping futures for over 125 years.
Porrentruy lies less than two hours from Zurich and just an hour from Basel, in the canton of Jura – known as the Cradle of Swiss Watchmaking. Our school is easily accessible by car, bus, or train from within Switzerland and neighbouring France.
For centuries, Porrentruy held a prominent place in Catholic Switzerland as the seat of the Prince-Bishops of Basel from the 16th until the 18th century. This rich ecclesiastical heritage can be seen in the town’s architecture, including several of the grand buildings that form Saint-Charles International School.
Porrentruy benefits from a rich historical heritage and a wonderful old town yet is today a modern and multicultural city, known for its warm, welcoming people and a strong sense of community.
